This Privacy Policy explains how Bonnie Preston ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our iOS mobile applications VentoX IPTV Player and Sflix: Movies & TV Shows (collectively, the "Apps"). Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Apps.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you use our Apps, you may provide information such as:

  • IPTV playlist URLs (M3U/M3U8 files) that you manually enter in VentoX IPTV Player
  • Personal preferences, favourites, and watchlists you create within the Apps
  • Feedback, support requests, or communications you send to us
  • Any account credentials if an optional sign-in feature is enabled

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Apps, certain data may be collected automatically, including:

  • Device Information: Device model, iOS version, unique device identifiers, screen resolution, and hardware specifications
  • App Usage Data: Features used, frequency and duration of use, app crashes, performance metrics, and diagnostic logs
  • Network Information: IP address, network type (Wi-Fi / cellular), and connection quality metrics (used to optimise streaming quality)
  • Log Data: Error logs, timestamps, and activity logs generated during app sessions

1.3 Information from Third-Party Services

The Apps may integrate with or retrieve data from third-party services, including:

  • Content metadata providers (movie databases, EPG sources) for displaying titles, descriptions, posters, and scheduling information
  • Apple services such as iCloud (for optional data sync) and Sign in with Apple
  • Analytics platforms (e.g., Firebase Analytics) that collect anonymised usage statistics
  • Crash reporting services (e.g., Crashlytics) to help us diagnose and fix errors

1.4 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

  • Financial or payment information — all in-app purchases are processed exclusively by Apple
  • The contents of any media streams you access through VentoX IPTV Player
  • Precise real-time GPS location
  • Contacts, camera rolls, microphone recordings, or any other sensitive device data unless explicitly granted by you for a specific feature

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

  • App Functionality: To deliver, maintain, and improve the core features of the Apps, including streaming, playlist management, and content discovery
  • Personalisation: To remember your preferences, watchlists, favourites, and viewing history
  • Performance Monitoring: To detect crashes, fix bugs, diagnose technical issues, and optimise streaming performance
  • Analytics: To understand how users interact with the Apps so we can make data-driven improvements
  • Customer Support: To respond to your questions, support tickets, and feedback
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes
  • Security: To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security incidents

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We respect your privacy and do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers

We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Apps (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

3.2 Apple Inc.

The Apps are distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple collects its own data pursuant to Apple's Privacy Policy. All in-app purchases are processed by Apple and governed by their policies.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

3.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or transfer of all or part of our business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard measures. Data stored on-device (playlists, watchlists, preferences) remains on your iPhone or iPad and is not transmitted to our servers unless you enable iCloud sync. We implement encryption, access controls, and security audits to protect data transmitted to or stored on our servers.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use the Apps responsibly.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely. If you delete the App, locally stored data is removed from your device in accordance with iOS standards. You may contact us to request deletion of any server-side data associated with your use.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection / Restriction: Object to certain processing activities or request we restrict processing
  • Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

7. Children's Privacy

The Apps are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 where required by applicable law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately and we will delete such information promptly.

8. International Data Transfers

If you access the Apps from outside Canada, your information may be transferred to and processed in Canada or other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the Apps, you consent to your information being transferred internationally as described in this Policy.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

The Apps may contain links to third-party websites, content databases, or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

10. Push Notifications

If you grant permission, we may send push notifications to inform you of updates, new features, or relevant content. You can disable notifications at any time via iOS Settings → Notifications.

11. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

As native iOS applications, the Apps do not use browser cookies. However, we may use equivalent device-based identifiers and SDKs (e.g., Apple's IDFA with your consent) for analytics purposes. You can limit ad tracking via iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at the address below.

13. GDPR – European Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we process your data under the lawful bases of: (a) performance of a contract, (b) legitimate interests, (c) compliance with a legal obligation, and/or (d) your explicit consent where required. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via in-app notification or email. Your continued use of the Apps after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
